Hotels

We have reserved blocks of hotel rooms at two different locations, one near the wedding site, in the city of Boston, & one near our home, in the city of Cambridge (don't worry, they're only 5 miles apart!).
Why two? Well, 5 miles in a city like Boston can be a surprisingly far distance, and we like to provide options.

Near us: The Best Western Hotel Tria
Fresh Pond Circle, 220 Alewife Brook Parkway Cambridge, MA 02138 (617-491-8000)
Rooms are reserved under the Grady-Troia/Strohm-Herman wedding group, at a rate of $189, for Saturday & Sunday nights.
Reservations must be made by August 23, 2007 in order to guarantee availability.
Pros & Cons to this hotel: The Hotel Tria is incredibly well-located for getting around: it is about one mile from our house, and only inches from the Alewife Station on the red line (which will take you to the wedding), and offers comlimentary parking. The only downside is that it is farther from downtown entertainment & food selections.

Near the Wedding Venue: Westin Boston Waterfront
425 Summer Street Boston, MA 02210 (617-532-4600)
Rooms are reserved under the Grady-Troia/Strohm-Herman wedding block, at a rate of $229, for Saturday & Sunday nights.
Reservations must be made by September 6, 2007 in order to guarantee availability.
Pros & Cons to this hotel: The Westin Waterfront is about a ten minute walk from our wedding location, and a similiar distance from South Station on the red line (& Amtrak & greayhound service) and downtown Boston. Parking is not included and, at its cheapest, costs $27/night, but at only three miles from the airport & 5 minutes from the train station, you might not want your car anyway.

Other options:
If you'd like to stay in an alternate hotel, there are many wonderful bed & breakfasts scattered throughout New England (we have heard that both bbonline.com and bedandbreakfast.com have good listings), as well as a wide range of hotel options (we'd recommend using the Green Hotel Association's website to find one at greenhotels.com).
We've also had great luck with hotwiring hotels in Boston, and you can often get great rates through hotwire, or other discount sites.
If you do end up at a location other than the two hotels which we've reserved, please let us know where you'll be.
